Caring for wood floor on a budget

After living in an apartment or house for a couple of years, it is inevitable that the furniture, walls, and floor start to look worn! So, the next best thing is to start doing some remodeling, right? Well sure, everyone would love to give their home a little tender, loving care, but what happens if you are on a really tight budget? Well we suggest that you start with your wood floor. These tips will be really helpful when dealing with a wood floor that does not have any deep scratches or indentations present. The first step in reviving your floor is to deep clean it. Use a mop or rag with warm water and clean thoroughly until all dust and debris has been removed from the surface. Next, identify whether the wood you are dealing with has a laquer or oil base. Knowing this will come in handy for the last step! If you are not sure of what type of base you are dealing with, ask for professional guidance. Now you can start sanding the area with a buffing machine in order to smooth the surface out. Once the sanding is done, be sure to remove all excess debris with a vacuum or broom before placing the last coat. Lastly, place the laquer or oil on the surface to seal it and voila!
