Since its inception, the Friends for Hope fishing tournament has raised over $65,000 for the Vannie E. Cook, Jr. Children’s Cancer & Hematology Clinic. Each year this tournament continues to grow and it doesn’t grow on its own. Its growth has come with the help of everyone in the community who supported through participation, sponsorship, donation, and volunteerism.

Friends for Hope is an organization of adults in the upper Rio Grande Valley dedicated to helping the needs of children suffering from cancer. Friends for Hope hosts various social events in an effort to give back to our community such as the Friends for Hope Annual Benefit in the fall, various mixers, and fundraisers to promote community awareness.

On Saturday, June 4, 2016 the organization will be hosting the 6th Annual Bay Fishing Tournament at Louie’s Backyard on South Padre Island. There will be cash prizes, awards, food, and fun.

Net proceeds from this event will be donated to the Vannie E. Cook, Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic.
