Tips to make apartment living a breeze

Typically all apartment complexes have someone working around the clock that tends to maintenance emergencies, but what happens on a holiday when your toilet is completely clogged and the repair guy is out on vacation? Today, we are sharing simple tips that everyone must know to avoid those type of situations. First off, it is very important to know how to unclog a toilet and most importantly, make sure you buy a plunger. Place the plunger directly over the hole and start pumping, this will create a vacuum that will eventually cause the seal to break and thus fixing the problem. If there is not enough water in the bowl, fill up a pitcher of water and fill the toilet bowl. Continue pumping until the problem is fixed! This procedure can also be used when fixing a clogged drain or sink. Be sure to remove any drain stoppers when dealing with kitchen sinks. It is also important to know the basics of patching up a wall. Most apartment complexes will withhold your initial deposit, if the place is not left in the same condition as it was first found. Before patching up a wall, be sure to buy a putty knife, spackle, and some sandpaper. With the putty knife, scoop up a little bit of spackle and fill the hole. Smooth out the spackle with the knife and then let it dry for some tyme, typically overnight. Once you are sure that the area is dry, use the sandpaper to blend the putty into the wall. Hopefully these easy tips will make life a little simpler!
