As the holiday weekend approaches, we  want to take time  to wish you a safe and peaceful Memorial Day. We are thankful for the sacrifice of the brave men and women who valiantly gave their lives in service of our country and its freedom.  Memorial Day is an American holiday historically observed on the last Monday of May. This special day honors men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military. The holiday was originally known as Decoration Day and dates back to the Civil War.  It became an official federal holiday in 1971. There are many ways to observe Memorial Day.  Some choose to visit cemeteries or memorials while others hold family gatherings or participate in parades.  Unofficially, this holiday serves as the beginning of summer.  However you choose to observe this Memorial Day, please be safe and enjoy the time with your family, friends, or co-workers.
